Sunday Long Run Day

I ran 12 miles today!! That is the longest I've ever ran while training for a half marathon. Looking back, the longest I've ran while training was 11 miles and that was last year. I thought that was awesome and look at me this year surpassing that!! I checked my time on Garmin Connect and I ran the 11 miles the Sunday before the half marathon last year in 1:42:48, with an average pace of 9:21. I thought that was good!! Holy cow....look at me now! I've improved so much from last year! I ran 12 miles today in 1:44:36, with an average pace of 8:43. Nothing is impossible! Just gotta keep moving forward!

Focus T25 Core Speed

I decided to do Focus T25's Core Speed for today's workout. It's been a while since I've done this one, but it's a good one. I like all the T25 Speed workouts because they always make me sweat. This one is core-focused but I think they all are lol. This video is towards the end of the workout where you do all the moves from the two rounds. I love how this workout is just 25 minutes long!

Best Way to Tie Running Shoes - Heel Lock Lacing

I'm passing along what I've found to be the best way to tie your running shoes. The first tip is the heel lock lacing which gives more support and helps keep your heel from slipping. It also helps reduce pressure at the top of the foot. The other tip is to use another loop when tying your shoes. It's easier to untie than the traditional double knotting way.

Sunday run.

Had a good Sunday run! It's the longest I've run this year. There's only three more weeks until I run the Portland Rock'n'roll Half Marathon. I'm getting a little excited. I'm running faster than I thought I'd ever run. Last year, I thought I was running fast but this year surpasses that. Are you getting closer to your goals? Small steps lead to big changes. Take those small steps, keep at it, and you'll get closer to where you want to be!

Focus T25 Gamma Speed 3.0

I decided to tackle Focus T25's Gamma Speed 3.0 for today's workout. It's been a while since I've done this one and I've improved. I'm able to do the push-up jacks better and feel okay throughout the whole workout even when doing all the burpee moves. I had a great sweat session in 25 minutes! This fast paced workout will make you sweat buckets lol. If you like burpees this workout is for you. This video is the last part of the workout where you repeat all the moves from both rounds.

Running comparison from last year

I was taking a look at my running times from last year and my times have really improved this year!! I was running more last year at this time because I did the Cherry Blossom 10 miler in Washington D.C. That was a fun race, especially since I got to visit my twin sister! But if you look at my times from last year, I was running an average mile in nine minutes something. I ran fast in the Cherry Blossom Race at 8:42 min/mile but other than that I was mostly above nine minutes. This year I'm running less than nine minute miles which I'm stoked about!! It's pretty awesome!! I'm in the best shape ever due to doing P90X3 as well as working out with Focus T25 beforehand! I can't wait to see what time I'll get on my half marathon coming up in May.

My P90X3 Results

Here are my P90X3 results. I did not expect to lose much weight since I had just done Focus T25 but I lost 4.8 lbs! On day one, I was 123 lbs and today I weighed in at 118.2 lbs! I'm amazed because before my fitness journey, I never thought I'd get back to 120 lbs let alone down to 118.2 lbs. According to the measurements, I've lost 5" off my waist and 2.5" off my hips! I'm flabbergasted lol. I'm not sure how accurate that is but my jeans are much looser. I had the same person who took my before measurements do my after measurements, in any rate I lost inches. I'm happy! 

Also, I'm so much stronger than I was before! I remember barely being able to do a pull-up and now I can do six regular pull-ups with no assist band or anything!! I can hold the yoga crow pose which I could not do in the beginning. I've improved so much and feel great! Also, it's improved my running. I'm running a lot faster than before and I've just been running on Sundays. I love the variety of workouts in P90X3 and would highly recommend it to all!!

Before I did Focus T25 I weighed about 135 lbs, now I'm at 118.2 lbs! 16.8 lbs lost...I'm happy with that!! :)

Woohoo!! I did it! 90 days of P90X3 done! I think P90X3 is a great program with a lot of variety and I'm glad I did it! I'll be taking measurements tomorrow. Stay tuned for my results.

21 Day Fix Results

My husband just finished with the 21 Day fix and got awesome results!! He lost 9 lbs. and 2 inches off his waist!! I'm so happy for him! Here's his words about the program, "My only advice for those starting out is to power on through. The first week of the meal plan was rough. Second week was better, and by the third week, I didn't even notice. Moving forward, this has really taught me how to eat cleaner and portion control. Next week I will be starting P90X3 with the 21 day fix meal plan as a guide for my eating. This program is totally worth it and I'm glad that I did it."

Got my workout done earlier today. Day 76 of P90X3 done! I tried another one of the elite workouts, Complex Lower, and boy did I sweat! Day 74 - P90X3 Yoga

Day 74 done! I've improved so much since starting P90X3. I'm so much stronger and feel great! I remember not being able to hold the crow pose at all but I'm so MUCH better at it now! I'm proud to say that I've been consistent with my workouts and the results show. :)

Day 73 - P90X3 Complex Upper

Day 73 of P90X3 finished! The classic calendar gives you the option of doing The Challenge or Complex Upper for the day so I decided to do Complex Upper.

Complex Upper is not included in the regular DVD set. It's one of the elite workouts on the Elite Workout DVD. This was a hard one and kept my heart rate up! It consists of five moves which you do for four rounds as well as in the burnout. The moves are Slow Mo Chin-ups, X Plyo Push-ups, Lunge Thrust Press, W Pull-ups, and Push-up Bird Dog Crunch. 

Pull-ups are always hard for me so thank goodness for the pull-up assist band. Also, the plyo push-ups and push-up bird dog crunches oh my.....it's a tough workout! Here's a video to give you an idea of the moves:

Believe in yourself!


Believe in yourself! Sometimes it's hard and I don't do it all the time but it's something we all need to do to keep moving forward. Whether it be you don't think you can lose weight or do a certain workout program, you can! You just have to believe and put your mind to it. You gotta want it and believe you can do it because anything is possible. A year ago I would never have thought I would weigh around 120 lbs again, or be able to do real pull-ups. Yet, I did it and I can do a few real pull-ups now. I feel awesome! You just have to take that first step and be consistent in doing the tasks you need to do to obtain what you want. Be patient for results to come because hard work and consistency pays off! Don't compare yourself to others, just be you and you'll get there!

Decelerator was a great workout! It was the first time doing it and was hard, but I liked it. The crane cracker push-ups are crazy hard!

I was amazed when I stepped on the scale this morning! I haven't been at 120 lbs in forever. I can't even remember the last time I weighed this much! This just shows how Beachbody programs truly work as well as taking Shakeology! :)

Day 34 - P90X3 MMX

Day 34 of P90X3 completed. This was an awesome cardio workout! It consists of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) moves. I've never done any MMA before but I thought it was fun. My form isn't that great lol, but I burned a lot of calories :). Also just a fyi, there were a lot of burpees in it, which Tony calls sprawls.

Day 32 - P90X3 Eccentric Lower

Day 32 of P90X3 Eccentric Lower completed. This was a nice lower body workout. There were squats, lunges
and used weights for most of the moves. Just like Eccentric Upper, you do the moves for three counts and then go quick on the next count. Here is a video to give you an idea of the workout:

Day 30 of P90X3 done. Oh my, this was a tough one! It really works your legs but I liked it! I got a great sweat and burned a lot of calories. You do each move for a minute and it's split into three different intensities. It's a great workout!

Day 29 - P90X3 Eccentric Upper

Day 29 of P90X3 done. This was a good upper body workout! It was a nice pull-ups, push-ups, and weights workout. It was my first time doing it so I wasn't sure what weights to use but I think I'll up the weight on some of the moves next time. Also, sorry about the bad camera angle, lol you can't see me at the top off the pull-ups.

Day 24 - P 90X3 Accelerator

Day 24 - P90X3 Accelerator done. First time doing this workout. It's a nice cardio workout! It worked my whole body! There were a lot of planks and leg work. The moves were a minute each and at times the speed changed from fast to faster. I had a nice sweat session.

Day 22 - P90X3 Isometrix

Day 22 of P90X3 - This is the first day of the transition week and Isometrix was a tough one. Tony Horton says in the beginning, "it's the hardest part of yoga." He is totally right. It was hard! It's all about balance. You hold each move for 45 seconds.

Day 18 - P90X3 The Challenge

First time using the Chin-up Max assist band for this workout and I liked it! It helps a lot! I used to use a chair or stool but using the Chin-up Max is way better! I like getting the full range of motion when doing pull-ups.

But I also need to work on my form on my push-ups but you get the gist.
